I've just booked for August 2022!

I'm so excited I need to tell somebody! I know that the prudent thing would have been to wait until flight prices were out for August 2022, but I have been getting jumpy at the thought that next year will be really sought after and so have taken the plunge and booked a fly drive through Virgin going London to Miami (saves £££££) for 15 nights! Hubby and I are taking our son (36) and his two boys who will be 17 and 12. We were going to go this August as DH is 60 at the end of August but decided to push it back a year. As we have promised them this holiday for two years now I really didn't want to disappoint. We will drive up to Orlando the day after we land and do 10 nights in a villa and four nights in Universal RPR. A proper 0ne-last-family-blowout-holiday before we both retire.
But... almost had a nervous breakdown when I checked my booking documents and car hire was listed 3 times, and I was being charged an extra £900, and not the car I booked. I managed to speak to a very helpful lady at Virgin who didn't know why it had happened, and corrected it for me. But, for a few minutes there I was in tears, as I know how hard it is to change things once booked. Virgin were brilliant though, can't fault them.
Now just need to book villa and RPR and then tickets!

Excellent. I'd like to congratulate you on your booking...
I've done the same, LHR to MIA with Virgin for August next year. Found the price to be very good and comparable with what I would expect. I'd already booked ASMo and park tickets direct with Disney for £150 deposit. Wanted to know flights were sorted and was to and thro for the last week or 2 as to whether or not to book a fly drive or wait for flights in September.
Couldn't resist any longer though... Happy planning.

IS there an "official" August 2022 club yet... looks like one needs to be started... I've seen a few planning or (like us!) already booked something...

Wow that's a great price, I would be tempted to book if I could get at that price. We have to travel early in August so looks a but more expensive for us. I'll have to wait it out to 11 month mark.

Thanks

Louise

Typo - it was only 2 adults 1 child, but I still thought it was a good price. We paid over £600 each with no car with BA 11 years ago, so £800 with car seems alright to me.

Personally I would get a refund, as you are then free to choose who you travel with. If you get the voucher you are limited to BA and have no idea if they will price hike once restrictions are lifted.
Although saying that, I did get a voucher off them when we cancelled our NY trip, but that was only because I had already seen a good deal with them for October and re-booked straight away. For some reason I couldn’t just move the booking over the phone.
