Nicest shop bought birthday cake?

DS celebrated his 30th birthday alone last April and this year he’s home.
He doesn’t want a specially made cake and my baking skills are not up to the task.
Have you had a really nice supermarket one?
Thank you for any suggestions
Sam

We've never been disappointed with any M&S birthday cakes - and even for adults Colin the Caterpillar cake is fab!

Costco do the best birthday cakes ever, very cheap too, if you have or know someone with a card, you can order them online for personalisation and pick up

I agree. The frosting they use is really nice if you don't want something overly sweet.

Second best would be M & S for me.

What about Patisserie Valerie? They have some developed by Reshmi Bennett (@angesdesucre) which should be good

I usually buy the M&S chocolate birthday cake, but I got the Cookies and Cream cake just a week or so back, and to be honest I found it to be SOOOO sweet and not to my liking. Having said that, it only lasted a couple of days!

One of the best shop bought cakes I've ever had was Cadbury's Flake cake. Its delicious!
