Changing Cars Mid Holiday

Bit of an explanation.

DH and I are hoping to travel with our nephew (21), niece (24) and niece’s boyfriend (22). We’ll probably need a full size SUV initially for 5 of us plus luggage to travel in comfort, but niece and boyfriend will be going home midway through our trip and a seven seater seems a little extravagant for 3.

Would we have an issue with returning original vehicle when we take niece and boyfriend to the airport, leaving an hour or so between bookings and picking up something smaller?

We did this once, I went out with just DS for 2 weeks and we'd booked a small car, then booked a large for when DH & DD joined us, I think it was done as 2 separate bookings though, but there wasn't an issue.

The car DS and I had actually ended up being larger than the the large car, as we'd got a free upgrade because they didn't have any compacts when we collected it!

Nope not at all it’s a simple drop one off and pick up!the second as soon as you have handed a one back just do two hires with Alamo it’s just a short walk round the car park if you’ve done straight to garage
But price+it up first then book the cheapest option with free cancellation and check it frequently and cancel and change if you get a better price we do it all the time

Thanks for your speedy responses, folks. I couldn’t see it being an issue, but it’s something I’ve never done before!

As OPs say it is as easy as pie. Only thing I would add is to watch the pickup time of the second car in relation to your flight home.
