Buying New Magic Bands From Ebay

Hi,

I've been travelling to Orlando on and off for years but somehow managed to avoid using magic bands. Recent trips have been heavily Universal based with night parties that do not require a magic band.

I am travelling this October (if it happens) with a party of 9.

We've taken up Attraction Ticket Directs ticket deal with free Mandolorian magic bands to be picked up from Disney Springs.

I would like to buy different magic bands for everyone from ebay (new not used). This would be my little surprise to give out about a month before. Mandolorian is not something most of us have engaged with.

Would this work? Are the bands already tied? Any suggestions?

You know the drill!

I think I know the answer but each band looks to cost between 25 and 30 (I want to get a suitable band for everyone) so whilst it's 'doable' it's not an amount i want to waste.

Thanks as always

Russ

Magic bands cannot be re used. Make sure you are buying brand new ones from a seller with good feedback. New ones can then be linked to your MDE accounts when ready.

If the MagicBands are new, unlinked and still in their packaging then, yes, they should work fine. Make sure you check the description and don't buy ones that are used or shown out of their packaging. Also check that the seller has a good rating score and doesn't have any negative feedback.

Obviously, as with all things from eBay, I can't guarantee it will be fine because you do sometimes get scammers on there. But there are many genuine sellers on there, selling the real thing.

BTW, the MagicBands will be cheaper if you buy them in Florida. You will be paying more (shipping costs, tax, and a bit of profit to the seller) to get them here in the UK before you go. And they don't do anything until you're out there. So you may want to wait until you're in Orlando to get them?

You can also buy new magic bands from Double Boxed Toys, but at an inflated cost to cover taxes & charges. They have a fairly decent selection on there.

I ordered some from the US Disney store in 2019, which wasn't the cheapest way of doing it but I wanted them before we went as a surprise for the kids, and had them shipped over via My US with some other US based company bits.

Will obviously be cheaper if you wait till you get there, but there are options, I personally wouldn't order from eBay as couldn't be sure that they wouldn't already be linked.
