Question for today

Here my question for tody if I was to use a cc to buy dollars is it the same as if I was to draw say 100 pound from the cash machine. I was just thinking to use my cc to buy a few dollars then just pay it at end of month. I know I get a charge for ponds

Thanks all

I would avoid, in most cases (you need to check your card) the card company will charge a cash advance fee, this will be treated as a cash transaction, you will pay a fee and be charged interest from day 1.

This however depends on the card, when I had the post office card you could buy currency from the post office interest and fee free but it was never the best rate at the post office anyway.

Sorry re read your question 😬 yes it’s the same, you know about the fees, no problem.

I believe it is the same as taking cash out of an ATM use you will be charged interest (at an eye watering %) from the day you carry out the transaction plus a fee

I thought you were going to use a debit card (as per your other thread) ?

It will be treated the same as drawing cash, which essentially you have done.

You would be charged substantially more for purchasing money. Not too sure about duck living areas

If you do, make sure it is one which uses the spot rate and doesn't charge fees.

Drawing cash from a cash point is not good for your credit rating

I haven’t done this, but thought that I have read in the past that some dibbers draw money using a Clarity credit card and then pay this off as no fees?
Personally, I wouldn’t use a debit card, but do use a Revolut card which can then just be topped up or cash which we prefer👍
