No one knows yet! But I would imagine that if required to quarantine, you would have food delivered - just like here all the supermarkets and restaurants deliver and you pay be cc over the phone.
Make sure you have covid cover on your insurance - companies such as Staysure will cover you for such things and last minute cancellations due to a positive test,

It’s not last minute cancellations I’m worried about, I’m due to go for 3 weeks and the thought of finding out on day 19 I have to cancel my flights, arrange new ones and find a hotel for 7-10 days and lock my kids in them is a real concern

The rules, as I am reading them, don’t actually say you have to quarantine. They just say you can’t fly home.

Obviously it would be good practice to quarantine, but I don’t think anyone is going to be whisking you away to a secure site.

I’ve just read right through the staysure policy, and I can’t explicitly see that this is covered. This is also my concern, although I’d book a townhouse / villa if we ended up in this situation so we had a bit of space to live in.

The chance of the US setting up quarantine hotels at this point has got to be near zero. There is no actual control over anyone who tests positive here in Florida anyway.

Food wouldn't be an issue. Uber Eats etc are extremely common here.

It’s hardly an ideal ending to a £8-15k holiday, the thought of inprisoning two kids at the end of a holiday is sickening.

From Staysure - cover for:

Cancelling your trip if you have COVID-19 within 14 days of travelling

Additional accommodation and transport if deemed necessary by our medical officer

Daily benefit if you are ordered to self-isolate in your holiday accommodation if you have COVID-19

I hope this particular test requirement is lifted by the summer, as it is the most problematic. If you think it’s unworkable for you then I would consider delaying your trip.

I have to say though, no one will require you to imprison them. You won’t be able to fly, but what you do while you wait will be down to your conscience.

Everyone has their own deal breakers, and if this is yours then you might want to think about delaying until things are clearer?
