Feb touringplans
Feb half term touring plans crowd calendar just changed to all 8-10 for crowds 😩.
Does anyone know why this would be. |

I've not been in February before, but I'm pretty sure they have a public holiday in the US for Presidents day...
I've looked it up, it's always celebrated on the third Monday of February. Also, does it coincide with Mardi Gras? Just guessing..

First, TouringPlans has a tendency of changing it's predicted crowd levels several times for no apparent reason. It can be due to anything - for example, that they've just recalculated the baseline numbers based on the recent February wait times, or they've renormalised the numbers based on wait times from other times of the year, or they've made a mistake and entered a rogue number that has thrown off the calculations, or something else.
In this case, I would guess that, because recently Disney seems to have increased the allowed capacity in their parks for this summer onwards by adding more park reservations, then TP are now recalculating the crowd levels assuming 'normal' unrestricted 100% park capacity rather than, say, a limited 35% park capacity. However, you would need to ask TouringPlans why it's changed (rather than asking on a rival Disney forum ). But I'm not sure why TouringPlans is bothering with all this at the moment. Things are changing with the restrictions and changes to park capacity and loss of EMH and so on. Historical wait times - at least detailed day-to-day ones - won't have much bearing on current wait times this year nor on wait times into next year. It's all a bit vague at the moment. Anyway, as Goldia says President's Day is in February and often falls around half term holiday here in the UK. Therefore from around 18th February 2022 to 22nd February 2022 it tends to be somewhat busy and remains a bit busy for a few days after then. That's 'normal'. As an example, here's the DIBB's wait time graph for Epcot from around Presidents Day in 2019 (the last 'normal' year we've had): As you can see, it can get relatively busy around mid February - although not as busy as Christmas or Easter.

Presidents Day is the 21st. We were at universal Feb 2020 the week before Presidents’ Day. It started to get pretty busy from the Friday before. Before that it was great.
We were not anywhere near Disney though, just stuck to universal and enjoyed all their Mardi Gras stuff. We are hopefully going back the week before Presidents Day again next year.
