Oh my God! I don't mind dipping the odd chip in my curry sauce but ewwww. Sorry no offence meant.

Curry and chips is yummy, a bit of rice or a Nan bread is also nice. That’s not a northern thing it’s a greedy thing! 😋

I am northwest 🙌
It’s definitely breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tea is drank in a cup, preferably made of china.
I have never had chips with a curry however my brother in law always orders a potion of chips when they have an Indian take away 😬😬😬
Chips are greasy and soggy from chip shops 🤢

Exactly!

Dinner is at noon
Tea in later

That’s why they were called dinner ladies at school not lunch ladies!

Delicious, salt & vinegar slice of bread and butter to wipe the tray of the last remaining curry sauce

Nope that it is not it, not even close.

There is nothing wrong with calling it dinner though, I can’t imagine calling my evening meal “tea” and cannot remember if I ever did.

Yes that is it. I was delighted to find a mobile chippy (here in Herts) that does proper northern chippy fare. I tend to have it with a fish as well or maybe a battered sausage.

I’m also in the northwest and have always had breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had never thought it was a north/south difference before, more just what you had been taught by your parents. Lots of my local friends say lunch and lots say dinner.

I am NW and I don’t think I have ever heard anyone here call their tea dinner ! We must be a bit common

Dinner 12 o’clock, Tea about 5pm and supper a piece of toast before bedtime.
What you need with that curry is half and half. (half portion of each)
