Norwegian Flights: Am I going mad?

4 adults / 2 children £3443

BUT book 2 adults plus 1 child twice - £1614 x 2
£3228

What am I missing? Can I do this?

Mandatory gratuity for a party of 6?

I tried to replicate it on random dates and couldn't, 2+1 was exactly half of 4+2. Did you accidentally select a different fare on the smaller bookings, e.g. Low vs Low+?

Actually, thinking about it... the likely reason is they only have 2 or 3 seats left at the lower fare so you're getting bumped up into the next pricing option when booking the larger group. You'll probably find after you reserve the first 2+1 that the price goes up for the next, and would equal what you would have paid for the larger group as a single booking.

As loldids said you will be in next price category. As block sold out. I had same problem couple
Of days ago and complained on their live chat. As one flight was over £75 more expensive than the other!

Is this standard with all airlines? I'd never heard of this, but I'm always pricing 4 adults/2 kids - so thinking I'd be better splitting it up too and just sharing the cost accordingly.

The problem with the written word is that you can't always tell whether someone is joking or not. I'm assuming you are?

I would agree with this, if I ever book 2 flights, especially on budget airlines I get a lower price than if I put say 6 people in.

My worry would be that when you have booked the first three for some reason you couldn't book the second three or if it came to the airline rearranging flight schedules as they like to they might move one group to another time and not the other.

I think it was as the early posters said about different price buckets because, by the time I came to book the advantage was gone. Certainly worth a try. Wish I'd just been a bit quicker.

That was a joke, i'm certain.

Restaurants tend to add on an automatic tip for parties of 6 +

Nothing to do with airlines lol

Yup, you got it!

I did follow it up with my actual answer, so assumed people would get it was clearly a joke.
