When you fly home the day your ship docks

Usually cruises tend to get slotted into the middle of a Florida holiday so the early disembarkation isn't an issue but we did a quick week away so had flights booked home at 7.15pm . Our cruise was due to have all passengers cleared by 9.30am at latest so what to do with the day with luggage.
We looked at several options MIA has charagable left luggage facilities, a few tours will store your luggage whilst on the tour but we knew we'd be in total relaxed mode and it all sounded like hard work so we looked at booking a day room through one of the day use sites.
We knew we wanted Beach, pool and somewhere not too expensive to eat on site. South Beach was coming out expensive so we looked north and found a small beachside hotel half an hour from both the port and airport. $100 got us a huge room with fridge and even table and chairs , nice terrace , pool and steps beyond the pool direct access to the beach (beach loungers included in resort fee) . Publix opposite and eating places both onsite and walking distance .we used Lyft both ways and it was the perfect finish to our trip. (Hotel was Wyndham Thunderbird)
