Let's hope Disney remove it too, even though Bob said it would be around for the foreseeable I just would like some spontaneity left and not have to book every single thing.

Completely agree - it feels like one step too far to me.

Now that capacity is pretty much back to normal, you shouldn't really need to book your days in advance outside of special event days. You could probably turn up at the park (except for maybe MK) and make a reservation while standing outside the gates.

Which makes it a bit of a pointless system, but I think Chapek is a fan anyway. It could even be sold as an on-site perk that you don't need to pre-book your days. Costs them absolutely nothing to offer, but will drive up resort bookings for sure.

I must admit I hadnt realised that Busch / SeaWorld were doing this in the first place (so didnt have days booked for August before it was cancelled).

I wonder if the removal of this final restriction means that we are close to Busch/SeaWorld coming out with opening dates for Iron Gwazi / Ice Breaker (rather than just saying 2021)

To be honest, the Seaworld parks never got booked up. Even earlier this year during the busy Spring Break and Easter period when capacity was much more limited than nowadays, there was always plenty of availability, even on the day. So, like Universal, Seaworld didn't really need to do it.

Whereas Disney does, and has, needed to do this to limit the number in the parks.
Right now, MK and HS are all booked up for the next week. MK is booked up on October 1st and Thanksgiving day. So I can see Disney needing to keep this going. And Chapek has said it will remain for the foreseeable future.
