Quarantine Rules Lifted - Amber Countries - Insurance

news.sky/story/covid-19-...rules-12351279

How will this work with regard to travel insurance do we think. Do you think it will still be essential travel only?

Hey!

The Government has said the FCDO will be changing their status for Amber countries so theyre no longer classed as Essential Travel only from 19 July

This means we will be able to buy "normal" travel insurance.
This is a massive change for those of us this year who have holidays booked but yet to buy their insurance (because, essentially we couldnt get cover).

It also means the likes of TUI will likely change their policy of traveling to Amber countries.

We just need the USA to lift their gates now!

I looked on Battleface last month and was quoted £3000 for cover. I did it 10 minutes ago and it gave me £250

Only spoke to Staysure yesterday... will give them another call, and see if they'll insure us for Mexico/USA now.

Just for info, after getting lots of quotes for insurance Staysure came out the best price wise for the standard insurance cover and had the added bonus of the covid cover.

I assume Biden not letting us in has no bearing on travel insurance now FCDO will remove "all but essential travel"

I found Staysure competitive enough anyway? Paying £120 for a year's worldwide multi trip with a health condition to inform.

Biden has been letting us in, just not direct from the UK. This means a potential 2 week trip to Florida now can be 4 weeks off instead of 6 weeks.
