Cost of booking seats with ba?

Does anyone know how much it costs to book seat choice with BA on direct LGW-MCO or LHR-MCO in economy standard? I can't see the cost before booking, and want to compare like for like with VA which include it for free. We are 2a1ya1c. Thanks

This link suggests seat booking starts at £20 in economy, however I note also indicates from £55 for Club World whereas from experience it is a lot more than this to Orlando and the cheapest available for my January flight in CW is £89.

So I don’t know for economy, but would guess at about £30-40 each way. Hopefully someone can confirm that shortly.

If your child is under 12, they will likely sit you all together if you're happy to wait for allocation?

I'm flying LHR to MCO in November so just looked on my booking and seats coming up starting at £34 for middle of plane, £40 for sides, £72 for the twin seats at back, going up in price to £62 for side 3 seats at front of economy. Hope that helps.

As you have a child under 12 they will seat you together anyway, If anyone has a disability/special needs they will allocate you seats straight away for free (if you ring)

OP. I needed an answer to your question for flights I wanted for next April.

I knew the flight price so went through to the booking page, put in a load of old rubbish ref my name and E Mail and then proceeded to the seat map.

The prices were on there.

Thanks for all the responses. We do have an 11yr old but I thought this just guaranteed they would be with 1 adult rather than all 4 of us together. Our son will be 13 so don't really want to risk him sitting separate from us as still young. Would really like at least 1 window seat too as we v rarely fly, kids were 2 and 4 yrs last time, and I think they'd get a lot from being able to see out of the window (even if most of the journey is just a sea view &#128518

Will try your trick Mr TM, didn't realise I could check it out before payment. Seems like there's lots of variation from other responses I had assumed it would be a flat price depending on seat class 🙄

Thanks Claudette that's a helpful link looms like it would be £20 per person per flight for us, so not as bad as I thought, but still an extra £160 to factor in!

No definitely not a flat price. On my flight the seats range from £89 to £117 depending on which seat you book, further forward more desirable (expensive) as are the sides versus the middle section.

I would probably plan to expect above £20 as they seem to be quoting an optimistic minimum. If you don’t get allocated seats, you might not get four together, but I think you would be unlucky if the 13 year old and other adult are sat on their own.
