Fair play to Harlow Council

Made a conscious decision to convert some of the normal close cut grass verges into wild flower areas. And much nicer Harlow is for it

Chelmsford are supposed to be doing the same scheme. I have grass verges outside our house, and wouldn't welcome two many wild flowers seeding on my front garden. But in areas with no houses, i.e roadsides, it would be very pretty.

That's lovely. I might have seen them today but your post about Asda put me off. Have to make do with Tesco now.

Harlow seem to have concentrated on roadsides especially in the area of the town that are mainly factories, warehouses etc

I think it looks lovely, so many boring verges that need a lift of colour, and will attract so many bees and butterflies.

Funny but I’ve just nipped in Asda on way home from work and I’d say it’s now 50/50 on the mask wearing front

My local council have been doing this for several years now. Some look lovely, others not so much. I think it depends on where they do them and how they grow.

The central reservation of the A45 running on the outskirts of Coventry did this for years but not this year for some reason.
