Florida in February?

Hi all,

We are contemplating booking February half term and the following week (possibly a DCL) next year. I have only ever been in May, August and October though so after opinions about what it is like. Good idea or terrible idea lol?

I love February weather wise but I think half term generally falls around the same time as Presidents Day (third Monday) and the Princess half marathon (following weekend) so it'll be busier than you think. The crowd calendar I use is currently predicting heavy crowds from 18-28th as a result.

Take clothing for all weathers, it can get really parky on a bad day if you are unlucky.

Loved it in 2020, we stayed at universal for a week. Booked for next Feb.

I did a trip report as did Moosha (I think) for Feb 2020

Loved Feb.

universal’s Mardi Gras parade is so much fun.

Plus, it’s still basketball season so you can catch a game.

We have done February and it was long sleeves in the evening, no more than that. We really enjoyed it!

Winter can be ideal if you are focused on parks rather than pool days. Hot weather isn't guaranteed but it will definitely be more pleasant than the UK and with longer daylight. It is far drier than the summer as well.

Been 4 times in Feb, weather expect for one year was absolutely amazing. 2020 was boiling in fact. However pack jeans, and a hoodie just in case, you can always buy warmer things if you need them (don’t like packing too many warm clothes in case I jinx it). Crowd levels are high if you go during Presidents weekend, In fact found it busier than June a few times we went in Feb.

We went in February in 2019. The first week was cool and a jumper or cardigan was handy in the mornings, second week was warmer and we wore usual summer park clothes.

My research six months in advance told me it was quite an unpredictable month, but if you look at the ten day / two week forecasts the day before you travel it should give you an idea of what to pack. I wouldn’t automatically pack jeans or lots of jumpers as you may not need any of them.

We thought February was great for weather, not so great for crowds at Disney, it was pretty busy, the Universal crowds were fine.
