Food poisoning rescue remedy!

Hi guys,

Hope everyone’s okay.

Any advice on rescue remedies for food poisoning? OH has thrown up around 10 times in the last 16 hours, and his stomach is terrible.

He’s got no energy (understandably) but he was okayish earlier just sleeping it off. Now he’s got a temp of 38.7 and a fever as he’s going hot and cold.

I’m not sure what to do!

PS I know people on here aren’t medically trained. But whilst I can get some fluids into him, I don’t think we need medical help (aware this can change) but could do with knowing what to look out for in case we do. Or anything to just help him now.

Paracetamol for the temperature and flat coke for the fluids/ making it less painful if he’s retching. Hope he’s feeling better soon xxx

I’m not great with anything like this, but my moms been ill this last few days because of her gallstones, she’s been sick a few times and the GP’s surgery suggested Dioralyte sachets to help with hydration, do you have anything like that he could take?

Unless you are certain it is food poisoning, It could possibly be Covid. My friend presented with v&d & temp & she thought it was a bug. After a few days still ill School told her to take a test & it came back positive.

I haven’t typical it’s Sunday so there’s no chemist open here anymore. Opening hours changed about 2 months ago 🤦🏻

My dad used to heat up lemonade to make it go flat, also body temp fluids accepted by stomach easier. It is the sugar/salt combo that you need so any sport type drinks will work and taste better IMO! Just not caffeinated ones!

We are sure it’s food poisoning. 2 people who ate the same yesterday have it. Everyone who ate something different is fine.

We discussed covid, admittedly we thought it was only kids who got the sickness bug though. I will test tomorrow if he’s still like it - I would not want him to leave the house right now xx
