just checked the menu out, looks similar to sweet tomato's ( which we loved and ate at twice in the 2 weeks )

as we are going to 3 weeks next year, might put this on the list

The only real similarity is that they are both buffets. It is quite different but still enjoyable.

To be honest I wouldn't say that GC and ST were similar.

ST is 99% salad options on the main buffet and you'll find a little meat in the chilli soup.

GC does have a decent range of veg and salad stuff to accompany the dinner options but there's far more meat choices available.

The last time we were in GC a family on the next table to us watched for the container of shrimp being brought out, brought the whole container to their table and devoured the lot between them. I was quite happy with my plateful of vegetables but felt quite sorry for anyone else in the place who would have liked to try the shrimp. It was the one at Lake Buena Vista. I much preferred the breakfasts in GC also at LBV - lots of medical people eat there too which is a good sign.
I also like Sweet Tomatoes which has hand gel dispensers at the entrance near to where you pick up your tray - what a great idea, even if we seem to be the only people who use it The salad bar is really something in there, food id made from scratch and the mini muffins are amazing, especially the gluten free coconut muffins.

Hand up here, whilst admitting we don't eat out, prefer home made scran, compounded by the Cape Coral GC shocking press incident in 2014... a bloke bit into a rats head in his chilli! Unfortunately Michigan friends also sufferred food poisoning within a few hours after eating in the same GC last year, her face was a picture when I mentioned the rats head incident!

Buffet's concern me, the idea of handling serving spoons after others who may not have clean hands makes me shudder.

I would go to the GC just for the marshmallows and chocolate fountain.
Personally we prefer it to Ponderosa or McDonald's but don't always bother going there.
I do laugh about the plates tho, they are exactly the same as those used in several Disney self service restaurants.

I thought on the menu it sounded like it had a stack of veg an salad's, though i guess as a buffet it will just be items from that list

We love gc, have always been to the Sandlake one before. This time we're staying at Marriott village so there's one in the car park. Can see it being somewhere we visit a lot this time, just for convenience

If it's your birthday around when you're going you can sign up and near your birthday they'll send a coupon for buy one buffet get one free (it really does need to be your birthday as they ask for ID). We always like to go once at least for their pot roast and veg.
