How Do You Like Your Steak Cooked?
Hi,
I am wondering if steaks are cooked differently in the US compared to the UK. I know this may seem daft but I have seen a few photos of steak on food reports where the writer has said the steak was cooked medium but it appears very bloody. I don't mind a bit of blood but like my steak medium. I can handle medium rare but not rare, so here I always go for medium as in my experience steaks are more likely to be a little underdone than overdone. I'd like to go out for one decent steak (Longhorns?) whilst in Orlando but don't want one that is practically mooing. Any advice gratefully received. TIA

I go medium well... asking for well in the past has meant charcoal on occasions!

They feed their cows with something, the steaks over there are almost a religious experience, I'm a medium/well as don't mind pink but don't like to see blood running out
In Italy on the other hand, don't matter what you ask for, the plate is mooing

It should be the same. I think if you ask for medium you should be fine. Well done is pretty much cremated.

I had lovely rib eye steak longhorns recently. Asked for medium. Fairly certain that is roughly what I got. It was certainly delicious, and very tender. There was juice but not excess red stuff. Tbh I couldn't see quite how pink / well cooked it was as found lighting quite dark. Just went with it as it tasted great.
