Do American cars have isofix? We'll be taking car seats with us when we go and I'm trying to decide which ones to take.

The USA uses Latch. Same system different name. They are interchangeable.

Thank you.
Although after your other post I'm now torn between hiring them from Avis. I thought it would be really expensive to hire them.

Double check that price though. I never trust what I read online!

It might be worth looking at the price of hire cars on the BA site, I was looking the other day and it was cheaper than Avis...guess it depends on what you want though.

The latch system also uses a strap over the top of the seat so whilst our seats should work over there, latch seats may not fit all UK cars.

We've already hired our car with Avis through BA. That bits sorted, I just need to decide which car seats to take with me (or whether to hire)

Although we don't have kids, I'd say hire if poss, I know I wouldn't want to have to lug a car seat about.

We took our car seat after hearing not so great things about the rental seats (that they can be a bit dirty and battered)

The big advantage of taking your own seat is being able to use the bag to bring home more stuff!
