The "Years in the Making" Trip Report - Apr/May 2016
Welcome to the trip report for our fantastic three week holiday. I've been inspired by so many other great trip reports and hope that I can measure up.
We were four adults and a four year old, travelled 18th April to 9th May 2016, flying BA and staying at OKW with DDP. For more background info, please check out the "Post-trip Pre-trip" (because writing this was all rather unplanned, and I didn't do a pre-trip report!) Post-trip Pre-trip Pre-travel Day Travel Day Day 1 - Magic Kingdom, Crystal Palace, Car hire, Disney Springs, Wolfgang Puck Express Day 2 - Hollywood Studios, 50s Prime Time, Publix Day 3 - EPCOT, Akershus, monorail riding, Beaches and Cream Day 4 - Swimming, Magic Kingdom, Hoop-de-Doo Revue Day 5 - Animal Kingdom, Tusker House, Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts Day 6 - Kennedy Space Center Day 7 - Check in RPR, Universal Studios and IOA, Circus McGurkus Day 8 - Universal Studios and IOA, Krusty Burger Day 9 - Caribbean Beach Resort, Swimming, Magic Kingdom, Califronia Grill, Wishes Day 10 - Cape May Cafe, EPCOT, Teppan Edo Day 11 - Be Our Guest, Magic Kingdom, Hollwood Studios, Hollywood Brown Derby Fantasmic Package Day 12 - Swimming, Animal Kingdom, Yak and Yeti Day 13 - Disney Springs, Wolfgang Puck Express, EPCOT, Coral Reef, Illuminations Day 14 - SeaWorld, Dine with Shamu, Publix, Gurgling Suitcase and a massive storm Day 15 - Gatorland, zip lines, Swimming, Hollywood Studios Day 16 - Rain, rain, rain. Mall shopping, Boma Day 17 - SeaWorld, Behind the Scenes Tour, Blizzard Beach, O'hana, Magic Kingdom, Main Steet Electrical Parade Day 18 - Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs shopping and Boathouse Day 19 - Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs Shopping, Portobello Conutry Italian Trattoria Day 20 - Chef Mickey, Magic Kingdom, Olivia's, Day 21 - Home time :-( Edited at 01:41 PM. |

Really looking forward to reading all about your trip, we stayed at OKW last year and are booked up again this year... and next! Ooops seem to have caught the bug lol. Loving your report so far xx

Looking forward to reading this report and how you got on with your car hire, we are thinking of doing the same next year - DH wants a mustang - not handy with 4 cases!

Thanks for reading. It really was crazy!
Day 1 is up now! It includes our car hire experience which couldn't have been more straightforward (other than the lady sneakily putting extra insurance on and seeing if we'd notice - but we did!) Lots of people say it eats up too much time to go and get the car when you can just pick it up at the airport. But I'd do it this way again as the benefits seem to outweigh the downsides to me. A Mustang would be fab! But yeah, you'll need to get the DME for the cases at the very least! |
