I enjoy the chats too and it's one of the many reasons I love my job in the community.
The people you visit and their families are lucky to have you and your team.
Just want to say a big thank you for the care and consideration you show to your clients, it sounds like you are one of the special caregivers

Thank you so much for saying that😘. Our office is getting lots of messages of support and thank yous from grateful families. I have also been known to come home from visits with a bottle of prosecco or two as a thank you gift🥴🥴🥴😂. I don't expect anything though but a thank you does help morale at the moment.

You're welcome and my thanks are sincere.
I was always taught that a smile and a thank you can make a difference between a person's day being dull and miserable or happy and positive.

As a community nurse - yes that is what we are having to do now. Not ideal no but with sickness of staff so increased caseloads and the risk of cross contamination from seeing so many people in one day with limited PPE - we have to take this decision not just to protect our patients but ourselves and our families.

Sorry rant over but we’re not in ‘normal times’

To add, I have the utmost respect and appreciation for everyone of dads carers in normal times, never mind the current situation.

No joy with out of hours, mums visits are cancelled, bar a temporary variation at bedtime.

What really infuriates me, is there’s now a gap on the carers rota of 15/30 minutes where they don’t get paid and most of them are staying with dad anyway.
