They are after the US schools go back. If I had children of school age I would book those two weeks.

Have to agree with everyone else, we are governed by school holidays so try to get the last 2 weeks of August as it tends to be 'quieter'

We went the first 2 weeks of August last year as that's the only time we could get availability for YC and certainly noticed that the parks seemed busier

If there's no free DDP next year we may still go but just get a villa and not do the parks and there's no guarantee that next August will be like previous ones due to the mess the world is in currently lol

I agree, if no free dining we will still go but stay in a value rather than a moderate.

It's certainly not the cheapest time!
Very much supply and demand with Villa's and flights commanding a higher price.

We went last 2+ weeks of August back in 2016 and had a great time but also the weather had a part to play with one full day of rain at the end of August and some part showers/thunder storms which in a way helped out with the humidity.
That said certainly did not stop us enjoying our time as you plan ahead.

That’s when we’re hoping to rebook (from 12-31 August this year to similar date next year.) Just don’t know how the 50th and the hopefully full reopening of the parks by then will affect crowds, but our only other option is to leave it until 2022, which seems so far away.

We’re stuck waiting to be able to move our dates anyway, so that we’ll still be insured for coronavirus related problems, eg cancellation or illness.
