Put it on about 45 mins at least before you want/to eat
Buy a bbq starter thing Basically a metal tube you put paper in the bottom then charcoal Light the paper and when the top coals are white spread it on the bbq and top slowly with new coals till you have an even bed of white coals Or buy instant light bags till you get it right for cooking It’s an art that’s for sure |

seconded on the chimney starter. it makes lighting them quick and easy. chuck some in the tube, put some kitchen towel with a dab of cooking oil underneath and light. 15 mins later, tip them onto the rest of your coals
theres cheaper ones around, but the weber one is built to last. i've had mine 5 years now, and its still in great condition amazon/Weber-7416-...nguag e=en_GB depending on what youre doing, putting the coals on one side of the bbq is good for cooking things with indirect heat (much gentler than having the coals directly underneath) |
