Would you book for Easter 2021?

We were due to go to Canada this August which much as I hate to admit it isn’t going to happen and I’m waiting for the inevitable cancellation to come through.
Naturally when you feel miserable you turn to Skyscanner - don’t you?
Seen some reasonable flights sub £300 for NYC for Easter hols. Tempted but wonder is it crazy to even consider booking a trip anywhere until we have a clearer idea of where this is all heading. Has anyone booked or is looking for next year?
Would love to have something to look forward to.

We had a cruise booked for May followed by 9 nights in Florida. It’s been cancelled so we have moved to next May. Transatlantic to NY and we have just booked an Airbnb for Pinehurst NC for a week after it. We have ensured the Airbnb has a decent cancellation policy , and I imagine if there are still issues next year then the cruise can be refunded, claimed( I have insurance cover ) or delayed again.

Our flight prices to Thailand for next March are exactly where I want them and they are with emirates or ethiad or I think will definitely survive this crisis, but I just can’t commit incase we get a second wave next year,or the Thai government won’t let us in etc etc.
We have our hotel booked, which we pay over there and any other year the flights would be booked.
I keep thinking surely next March will be fine, surely countries will be wanting the tourists money, surely the airlines will issue a refund, but there’s just something holding me back.
For me I think it may be that 3 friends are coming with us,it will be there first time to Thailand and I just don’t want to make the wrong call regarding the flights, maybe if it were just us two I may have already booked.
I’d like to think next Easter would be fine and that is a great price.

My decision is to book nothing at all, absolutely nothing not even a uk break until we know what’s happening.

We have already missed our trip to Prague, our NYC for October is cancelled and I am expecting to hear from Charter Travel any day now about our August visit to Orlando.

So for me it’s time to hunker down, ride the storm and be thankful that we are safe and well.

We had already booked for next October before all this happened. The only bit that worries me is virgin flydrive.

I know a load of people are going to think I'm mad, but I'm thinking of booking something for October/November. I would book direct with an airline, on a credit card, and make sure hotels/car hire were refundable.

I would definitely book for Easter - subject to the above.

We were supposed to go to Barcelona just before Easter this year. Obviously that didn’t happen. I have rebooked for April next year. I did wonder if it was the right thing to do, but if it’s not & it gets cancelled again, then so be it.

Thanks everyone, so hard to know what to do. I guess one thing is I’m encouraged that there are some reasonable flight prices out there after reading prices were going to be mega expensive!

It’s a tough call - but yes I would book. The prices won’t go lower than now imo. As soon as we start to ease out of lockdown I see them rising.
