Afternoon tea

Hi All

Any ideas what to serve as part of am afternoon tea? Sandwich fillings etc please

Egg and cress,smoked salmon and cream cheese, cheese and onion, ham and mustard... and you must have scones with jam and clotted cream, and small cakes like French fancies, macaroons, mini cupcakes... and my local teashop also serves little chocolate mousses...

As above but also coronation chicken

Egg mayo, grated cheese, ham (and mustard or branston), tuna mayo (and sweetcorn), cheese spread and cucumber, salmon. You can make it as simple or fancy as you want!

If you want it to look pretty you could use white bread, brown bread, wraps or pitta bread to mix it up.

I had Croque Monsieur on an afternoon tea at Cafe Rouge and pizza on one at Bella Italia.

We're having ploughman's sandwiches

On the side: cheese and bacon scones, cream and jam scones, strawberries, cheesecake bites, chocolate cake, crisps and sausage rolls.

Is it for VE day tomorrow...

I am doing for us and some of my neighbours, keeping our distance of course...

Ham and Piccalilli
Cheese and Tomato
Corned Beef (ugh) and Branston.

They are all getting a scone with Clotted Cream and Jam and half a custard tart each.

We are all doing the silence, glass of wine in our drives and then getting together but staying apart with a glass of vino to sing Vera Lynn songs in the evening.

Really looking forward to it.
