Alamo standard suv

We have a standard suv booked with Alamo brits for 23/8/19- 8/9/19 collect at mco I paid £495 I need the extra driver.we always book this class of car with Alamo and have always been pleased with the cars with have had (had a Santa Fe a few times I quite like it I know most on here are not a fan).i have seen people saying that the row has been full of intermediate suv of other class of cars my question is would you upgrade to the full size suv or change to a different company.if I changed to a different company who would you recommend.

In your situation I wouldn't change as I doubt you will get that price now.

My recommendation is stand your ground and if the line doesn't have the correct cars at all head back to the hut and ask they find one as per your contract.

Even the Full size row is looking a tad thin now judging by other posts on here.

So what happens when you go down this route and they can't find you a STD .
If you take an intermediate do you get a refund of the difference?

I think that would be the case, but I would imagine that the onus would be on you to chase that refund.

May be better to push for a free upgrade

As per R3D4 above. The problem with an upgrade from a Standard SUV is that a 7 seater is the next class up. No way am I having one of them. Great for a Family but not us 2.

Personally I would swap it out the next day as I did earlier this month.

Ok. We're 4 , 2 teens so wouldn't bother me.

Has anyone contacted Alamo to complain or raise the issue?

I will be this afternoon. Had the same issue in March and May. No Standard SUV's in the row.

I await with bated breath the response I will get - Not!

Indeed. I'll wait and see when I get there. I'd gladly take an intermediate, provided it's a nice one. I won't take any old car though if there are no standards. I would therefore expect at least some common courtesy so that I'm not left wanting 😉

Standard suv is the size that suits my needs that’s why I book that class intermediate I find a bit on the small size don’t particularly want the full size but bigger would be better than smaller.I think I will follow toms advice and see what is there and then speak to them in the garage if no standards are available
