Mobile Am I crazy?!? Just booked flights

Not sure if I’m just not thinking straight today as right now we should be collecting our car at Tampa to drive over to Boardwalk 😞

I’ve just booked flights for next Easter with BA 😱

I’ve no idea if we’ll even be able to go, but we have a cruise booked and the price was good.

I decided on a whim to book as the dates are covered by BA confidence policy so we could take a voucher if we choose not to go.

If we can go but the cruise doesn’t we’d still go and do something else.

So, have I give completely mad? Anybody booked any flights recently?

What was the price?

I keep wondering whether we should book flights for next Easter. We booked a cruise back in January, but with no flights, it’s not much good to us! (Free cancellation until January anyway, so I’ve just got everything crossed there’s some definite news on vaccine by then. But then I don’t want to end up paying a fortune for flights at the last minute. And then again, I don’t want to end up with flights that we can’t cancel if the cruise doesn’t happen.

I’m definitely jealous that you’ve taken the plunge, and it sounds like you’ve got Plan B sorted if things go wrong, so I say good luck to you!

£2900 for 2ad 1ch premium both ways into MCO. I used avios to bring it down to £1700.

We don’t normally go at Easter so can usually get flights cheaper than that. Price and crowds have always put us off Easter but won’t make a different to the cruise and we plan on staying at Vero beach before rather than doing parks.

Not the best use of points I know but we’ve had loads back this year and they don’t cost us anything so may as well use them.

Oh, I wish I hadn’t just looked! They’ve got some good prices into Miami too (where our cruise leaves from) but I haven’t got the nerve to book at the moment.
Enjoy the planning and I hope you have an amazing trip!

No I don’t think you are mad OP, but it is a bit of a risk - I am sure you know that though.

There are some good flight deals out there and I have been tempted too. Insurance issues have stopped me booking though. Too much risk for me.

I think if it is covered by the confidence guarantee, and everything else is fully cancellable, and you are comfortable with the risk then why not. Lovely to have the idea of a gateway to look forward to.
