Actually, it will still be free to park at the Fort Wilderness campsites, which is usually the resort chosen with these throwaway bookings because it's the cheapest.
So it won't affect the throwaway booking phenomenon at all. Loews over at Universal have been charging to park onsite for years. I don't remember many people complaining about the parking charges there. So it's about time Disney caught up and got a slice of the parking charge action. Disney: "If it's good enough for Universal, then it's good enough for us".

Excited about Disney

Hi there Guys,
just with regards to this! I've spoken to Disney a few times about this today and they have confirmed the following to me. WALT DISNEY WORLD : CHANGE TO PARKING The new charges apply to customers booked with WDTC US. We book through WDTC-UK. All guests booked for 2018 with us will not be charged for standard Theme Park & Resort parking. We have been advised UK guests will not be effected until 2020. If anything changes we will advise.

We're like everyone else, pretty peed off about it - I can understand why they're charging, even if we disagree with it - but to charge deluxe resort guests almost double the fees of value resort guests for exactly the same service and facilities is disgraceful. But hey, happy days - we still are able to park at the parks for 'free' if the buses are too full .
I had heard that they're putting car number plate recognition equipment into the car parks, so that will stop anyone trying to park over the 3 hours currently allowed for non resort guests.

Hi there
i have seen that page, which prompted me to call Disney. WDTC-UK booked guests, traveling in 2018 and 2019 will not be charged for parking. Domestic guests and customers paying in US $ on the US website will be charged. WDTC-UK is a separate company to booking WDW US I hope this helps

We will always try and help as much as we can.
It is extremely confusing how WDW operate as you would assume that they work the same throughout. If we hear any further changes we will advise but that is the most current information on what we have been told.
