I cannot cope with air con during the night (don’t like the noise and also it is too cold for me lol). So my practice is to have it on pretty cold in the run up to bedtime, then turn the thermostat to a fairly high temp so it doesn’t kick in throughout the night. By the time we wake in the morning it is pretty warm and I turn down the temp in the thermostat again to make it kick in. Bit of a faff but I could not sleep with it kicking in through the night x

air con

we had a similar problem- were on the top floor at SSR & i think we must have been near the main aircon units/works room for the building if there is such a thing...sounded like a plane was taking off! i would have asked to change rooms apart the the fact we got a free upgrade to a 2 bed villa so wasn't going to risk losing that as it was fab! i did get used to it ,ear plugs def required however, but yes try & fiddle with the settings. we also had a very loud bathroom fan that we managed to turn off as even if you walked into the bathroom area (SSR have a bath & sink area within the master suite)without the light on it would trigger it & stay on for ages.

We often switch it off at night and just have the fan on.

If the room is cold before we fall asleep it stays ok most of the nice. I might click it back on if I get too hot in the night.

Personally, we leave the room at about 72 and don't find it a problem at night.

I hate it when housekeeping turn it down and leave it at 66 as I find that too cold

We’re the same, after we’ve acclimatised to the heat after a few days we find just having the fan on at night is enough.

We’ve always been lucky enough to have rooms that don’t get any direct sun which does help keep the room cooler.
