Free dining is available only if you book hotel and ticket as a package. Unfortunately the Disney system isn’t set up for two different hotels on the one package.

We were at carribean beach and decided to upgrade to akl for 4 adults it was only £759.
To upgrade the dining to normal dining plan it was £170 per person for 10 nights that is so an extra £17 per person per night so we decided to pay little extra and have the AKL with balcony

I think if it wasn't too much more I would upgrade to a deluxe hotel. I have just booked Yacht club for us, and when I worked out the price from coronado to yacht, it was more expensive, but for that we are getting deluxe, in the epcot resort area, somewhere i've always wanted to stay, so it depends how much more it is really, if you can afford it, i'd go for it

We moved to AKL when we decided to upgrade our dining as it was only £300 more that POFQ for 2 of us
