Thank you, thank you, thank you, everyone who so kindly offered me some much needed advice, all of it highly informative and greatly appreciated!!!
Have now come to a decision!!! [Drum roll please!] After talking all the comments though with DH, have decided that we will now wait until our inevitable return to Orlando do the DC experience. I hadn't thought about how strong/experienced our 6 year old DS could swim, especially with snorkel etc and he is a rather excitable child when swimming and this may make him even more than usual. Additionally, because of his autism, we both think that the Seaworld dolphins (thanks Angel for the info) may provide us with some much needed knowledge of if he even likes dolphins [not too many round Dartford way!!] Price wise, I was most impressed with Kazzie's calculations, and this will ensure that DC will be at the top of our list when planning the next trip!! Thanks Kazzie! Another reason for postponing, is that at the moment, I think 6 year old DS may end up a tiny bit overstimulated by all the rides at the beginning of the trip, therefore, DC would seem like just another day out. I'm hoping that as he gets older, he will be able to handle such experiences better, be more involved and remember them for what they are, a magical time, not just "playing", mind you, that may be asking too much from him, bless!! 11 year old DS doesn't seem too bothered at the moment either, if he had been really up for it, perhaps I may have been pursuaded otherwise, but I think he feels that leaving DC off the rounds this year will guarentee going back in the future!!! Not silly, eh!! Again, thanks for all that brilliant info, it was sooooo helpful, and Mike, would love to see the video when we start planning for the next trip!!! Spider . It sounds as if you've worked it out really well, you know your children best. Also as you'll do so many wonderful things this time,it is really nice to have some things to do that are first time things when you (inevitably) go back . |
