For 4 adults OKW or SSR May be cheaper than upgrading to DDP. When you get to 11 months out from check out you’ll be able to check the price. The other deluxe hotels won’t change in price.

There's no point in waiting to see if resorts get cheaper nearer the time. Even if they show up online as cheaper once free dining has ended, you'll be charged the price that they were when the free dining offer was on - so basically, the prices you see now are the prices you'll pay. Agree with Lisa to have a look at OKW and SSR oonce you get to around 11 months as these are usually the cheapest deluxe resorts.

It was cheaper for us to upgrade to akl than ddp upgrade at por this year if that helps ( we’ve since moved to the yacht club )

We are also going to Coronado Springs in September 2020!

For us, staying at csr and upgrading the dining plan was cheaper by almost £1000. We are 2 weeks from 23 sept. 2 adults. Cheapest deluxe showing up was akl but I didn’t feel it was worth extra grand. We’ll be dining there a few times instead!

Obviously haven’t checked okw or ssr as we’re not 11 months out, but I prefer the look of the rooms at csr to those, I love that they’re new and feel quite Premium!

I’m pretty sure we did the math in this and it ends up just a bit more to go deluxe and get the ddp. For us it was worth it (in fact we went a bit further and got a 1 bed villa at OKW...admittedly that was quite a lot more...but their standard double was close to CS I think).

Have you considered splitting your stay? Bit of moderate...then into a bit of deluxe?

It depends on what's more important to you - more food or a higher grade hotel room. Work that out and then you'll have your answer

We stayed in Coranado on our first on site holiday and paid to upgrade the Dining Plan. Following year we did Saratoga Springs and paid about the same as a moderate with an upgrade and just having a balcony in the room rather than a window on to shared walkway was worth the better resort any day

The only problem with that is that they'd only get free dining for their first hotel stay. Unfortunately it's not possible to get free dining and do a split stay without buying 2 sets of park tickets

To get free dining on a split stay you’d have to buy two lots of park tickets unfortunately.
