Virgin Atlantic flights from Manchester

We were on calypso queen and it was OK it had the seat back TV's which is the main thing for me anyway

Well after having discussed it with Fiona, we are going to leave the booking as is at the moment. (I might dig out my letter from a couple of years ago and change the dates - just in case)

At least this time we have had some previous warning, althought not from Virgin yet.

there is a post on the DIS boards with an e-mail from Virgin, basically saying that Virgin have leased a plane or planes to Air Atlanta. They are then outsourcing the Manchester to Orlando run to Air Atlanta who are providing the service using the aircraft that Virgin have leased them.

In a nutshell, we will all be traveling on exactly the same aircraft that we would have been on if Virgin were providing the service, the only difference being that Air Atlanta "own" the aircraft and are responsible for its upkeep as oppose to Virgin "owning" it and maintaining it. The registration will be Icelandic (so what) and the crew may possibly be Icelandic (as long as they understand "get me a beer please" that’s OK with me).

The benefit to Virgin being that they don't have to maintain an aircraft at Manchester, where they presumably have limited, if any, maintenance facilities and personnel.
