Thanks everyone for your helpful replies. We are staying at Watersong on Orange blossom blvd will have to look on map regarding Hartzog. We will be putting in a kitty, I was just thinking we could be putting in over next few months rather than waiting till we are there but not sure now what be for the best. Wawa sounds great though. Just have to survive the wait of 11 months now

Get one of those savings tins, and label it kitty money and keep it separate from other savings that way you know you have a little pot of money towards it all. That’s what I did on our first trip, had 2 jars, one for random spends and another for kids spends! Helps a little 😄

We do this with our small change, then we use it for the airport and airport hotel the night before for drinks and food.
The only problem now is as we use cards for most things our small change has dropped.
Not counted our pot for this year but I am guessing it will not cover our usual cost.

Great idea for saving your fuel money separate though.

Use cash for fuel as previously advised.

If you want to use a card for other joint payments then I would advise on revolut. Before you go you can get X amount of money off everyone who is going to be paying for stuff and load it into the card via one person's account.

Then use it as required and any leftover can be split easily.

Even better, if everyone has revolut you can simply transfer between each for free. It also has a facility for splitting bills.

So for example, your group dinner comes to $200. One person can pay the $200 and then everyone involved pays their share to that person via the app, for free.

How about one person opens a starling current account, you could then each do bank transfer to it. You can withdraw cash from it from it free of charge so long as the atm doesn't charge when your there (it uses mastercard daily exchange rate) as you need it. Keeps the money safe and as it's a UK bank account you can just transfer any cash not used back to each person once your home.

Ps, 11 months will fly by, when we first booked we had 453 days to go, now it's only 34 day whoop whoop! I cannot believe how quickly 15 months can go by!

Thanks I realised I should really have asked about card for shopping and fuel not just fuel, thought it be better than just handing over a certain amount when we get there
