How far in advance can you book flights only as opposed to packages?

I heard it's 11 months max, but I'm sure I read on the old UK site that someone booked at least 18 months ahead.

Can anyone help?

I think it depends if its just the flight or a flydrive Alison.  We booked our flydrive in January for next April (2003) but couldn't book that far ahead for the flight only. thats ok coz we just booked the flight & car and haven't taken up the insurance.

Flights can definitely only be physically booked 11 months in advance. Its possible someone got a quote which was honoured furthur out than that mark( and probably had to pay in full for the flights in advance)

At the moment Virgin fly-drive/holiday prices and availabilty go up to April 31st 2003.It will be about May when it becomes possible to book from April onwards.

We booked our flydrives' 18 months in advance with Virgin Travelstore. We got a 10% discount for an early booking.  ,

Just tried the Virgin travelstore.

It wont let me put dates in beyond March 2003 on its flights section.

Looking to book fly drive for Aug 2003

Rick,

I actually got some of the details for Virgin Travelstore from ITV's text (page 273) and then gave them a call on 0870 757 77 67. They're very helpful and can try and accomodate your needs and answer any queries you may have.

,

P.S. I did actually book this when the company was only part owned by Virgin (it was worldwide travel back then) but now Virgin Travelstore owns it completely and nothing has changed regarding my booking. Try giving them a ring anyway, see what they have to say.

Thanks for that info.

I will try and contact the travel store over the next few days and see where I get.

Will update this thread as to how I get on.

Rick
