What time to get married?
We have now decided that we will get married in Florida. The options for wedding times are 11 a.m, 1p.m, 3p.m or 5p.m.
I'm sure I've seen this asked before but I've tried searching and I can't find the thread I thought I'd seen. Anyway, what are the pros and cons of these times? We are looking at getting married towards the end of April 2011. This is what I have come up with: 11 a.m pro - not too hot con - a bit early for me to get organised! 1p.m pro - unlikely to rain? con - too hot 3 p.m pro - not too early/late con - mid-afternoon thunderstorms? 5 p.m pro - ? con - too late in the day What does anyone else think?

I fancy 2 or 3 pm. Where we are getting married we are the only ones and they are very flexible with the time. So if a thunder storm happens, we can wait it out.

i think 3pm would be best, we renewd our vows round about that time and it was a perfect time of the day

I've never been in April so I'm unsure of the weather at that time of year. Carrie would be able to help you with that.
But my gut instinct would tell me 1pm would be best.

Are you having a photographer? Ask him/her about the light quality at differing times of the day.
We renewed our wedding vows on a beach in the Caribbean and it wasn't until the photographer told us that in the morning the light would make the sea look turquoise and in the afternoon it would look deep blue that we decided to 'remarry' in the morning! Diane x |

April is a great month for weather and any of the times would work nicely. The most popular would probably be 1 and 3. Personally I like 3 or 5 when considering dinners. I would base the decision on what you wanted to do immediately following your time at your venue. If you are going to want a meal directly following factor in your travel time to that next location.
The wedding itself isn't long and I've often had to step in and encourage the families to make the most of their photography time. You've paid for the time (with my packages) and not a photo amount so take advantage of it. Often I end up asking if we can do early seating at restaurants because they've arrived early. **For anyone considering Winter Park Wedding Chapel I would allow for 1 hour if traveling around rush hour. My typical journey home from the north side of town to the Universal area takes me roughly 50 minutes. |

What are you doing about your reception Sarah? I want mine to go on into the night but they apparantly only last an average of four hours in US traditions. I am waiting for an email back about extending it.
I'd like my wedding to be around 3pm with the reception starting at about 5pm. I want to squeeze every moment out of the day |
