Mobile Spending money question - sorry!

I’m after the wisdom of fellow DIBBers on this question, on behalf of my husband, so your collective wisdom would be great.

DH is worried that we don’t have enough spending money whereas I think we do.

We’re away for 14 nights (15 if you count the flight home. We’re at HRH for the first three nights and on-site at Beach Club for the following 11 nights. We have DDP for those 11 nights. My mother is coming with us - her money is sorted so she doesn’t figure in our sums - but DD(9) does. All our tickets are paid for too and we don’t anticipate adding any other attractions on at this late stage.

So, between myself and DH we have $2k across our Revolut accounts and cash, emergency credit cards (about another £1k) and DD has her spending money which is about $250.

We’ll obviously have food costs at HRH/Universal, a couple of our ADRs will be OOP (Beaches & cream and one more I can’t remember right now) and souvenirs/small Christmas presents for family back home.

I certain we’ll be fine, we have enough (potentially more than enough) to my mind to eat well where we need to pay OOP and still buy the souvenirs/tat that DD manages to cajole out of us, but DH just can’t see it. TBF we’ve just moved house and getting used to new bills coming in we didn’t have before so I think this is where his doubt is coming from, but if anyone can offer reassurance I’d be grateful to pass that on.

Thanks

Hi, I think the amount you have is more than enough for what you have planned. My dh is the same worries about the £ when there's no need.

Work out a daily amount. Say $200 at hrh and $100 at Disney and then you get a feeling for how $2000 stretches. At Disney you need about $20 -$25 for your tip per day and the rest is just for fun spending really. Everything else can be covered by your dining plan.

I think that should be plenty, especially as you have DDP. We took £3k for 2 of us for 3 weeks. We ate at the villa for about half the time and half the time we ate out. We purchased quite a lot in the outlets too. Granted, We only came home with $11 😂😂. But we could quite comfortably spent a lot less if we hadn’t been shopping several times.

My biggest outlay in September was the daughter. My oh my that kid could spend for England, keep your daughter away from the Pandora shop and Sephora ! Doesn’t matter how old they are they always find plenty to buy in these shops. I kept on saying that’s going away for Christmas. I think you will have plenty of money. 2 of us and I spent just under $700. With 2 Disney Springs sit down meals, plus all daughters Christmas presents.
