For dates that fit this looks like a good deal to me - for some reason I always thought with free dining Disney didn’t reduce their 14-day ultimate ticket price but I see they are doing 14-for-7 price too this time, was that always the case?

It was for 2018.

Particularly for the upgrade cost to DDP from QSDP, yes.

Some quick math and I can't see the value in this, for me.
Upgrading from a value (AS) to moderate (CBR), 10 nights x 3a, would be £800.

OK it gets me ~£1100 of QSDP but to make it work I would have had to have been spending £80 a day on food, which is ~$100... the $200 gift card might swing it, but I'm still struggling to justify.

Am I missing something? Is $100 a day, just for food, lower than I remember and not realistic?

It all depends on how many of you there are really, and the ages. Plus, the moderate resorts are nicer than the value resorts, so most people stay at them because they prefer the theming, landscaping etc. Value resorts really don't appeal to us, so we always go for a moderate. With 4 adults (we have 2 teens), the food bill is easily covered. 1 meal for 4 at Wolfgang Puck Express (quick service) can easily be $80. Plus you get the snacks, refillable mug and gift card. It's all personal preference though

Thanks for that
For the three of us realistically it looks like it we would possibly break-even if we upgraded... financially that is easier to justify, and like you say there's the more esoteric aspects like theming, etc.

If it helps, last year on the QSDP (for 7 nights), we kept all our receipts. We used all of our meals and snack credits and averaged 3/4 drink refills per day. Had we paid OOP we reckoned it would have cost us $990 - this was for 3 adults.

Happy to help. I'm always on my phone too, but use it in desktop view rather than mobile view as I like having full functionality
