Changing cash

Who has Some good advice on where to change my precious cash euro’s into hard cash dollars?
Best in my own bank at home? At western union? At the AirPort?(guess not?) Advice more than welcome. Thx!

If I am changing cash for cash I just have a wander down the local high street looking at the various money lending places, Ramsdens and the travel agents. I generally find that the money lending places give a fractionally better rate.
however for other transactions I have a mixture of Halifax Clarity, Fairfx and Monzo.

I use the tool on moneysavingexpert to see where’s the best rate and use them. If there’s not much in it then I’ll use Debenhams as they have an offer of a £5 gift voucher to use in store.

Not as straight forward to go from Euro's to Dollars as cash though. Chances are the high street would do Euro to Pound buy back and them Pound to Dollar conversion which would be a double whack.

You need to find some way to do it straight to dollars avoiding the pound. Ideally if you know someone travelling into Euroland, then get them to do it for you out there.
