I’ve not had my rota yet, ( they’ve only known Xmas has been coming all year!) but it’s rumoured that I’ll be working nights Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

I get Christmas day off this year thankfully!

Last year I was working 12 hour night shifts the whole week of Christmas so we had to postpone Christmas dinner until the 30th as I was in no condition to celebrate while I was working nights...

I work in a pharmacy Tue/Wed/Fri - but not bank holidays unless we are emergency cover - we are not emergency cover this year so I am off almost a full week - just working the Friday between Xmas and New Year...

Next year however... Xmas Eve=Tue and day after boxing day=Fri... and we'll probably pull the emergency cover for Xmas day - on my Wed... hey ho...

I work as a Deputy at a respite and emergency service for adults with learning disabilities, we're open 24 hours a day, all year round, so I always work either Christmas or New Year.

I've got 4 days off this year, I finish on Saturday 22nd and I go back on 27th.
I've worked in a supermarket for 12 years and never had so much time off at Christmas.
Next year will be even better as I'll have 5 days off.

I've got Christmas Day and Boxing Day off, which I'm grateful for, but I'm working the days around them. I've got a Client for sentence on Christmas Eve and I'm on duty at the Police Station on the 27th. The wheels of the criminal justice system never stop
