So who is working at Xmas and why?

Working Xmas eve nightshift into Xmas morning, and again Xmas day night into Boxing morning. I'm a Train driver so will be finishing off the Passenger services on Xmas eve, then moving empty units around to get ready for service again on the 27th.

I can’t remember the last time both myself and DH were off at Christmas (nurse/midwife and carer) but since September I’ve been semi retired, I now do bank home working for 111 so can pick and choose what I work... so this year I’m just doing 2 hours on the 23rd, off on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th... working the weekend between and a few hours New Year’s Day morning... bliss...

I never have to work over Christmas or New Year, but eight years ago I had cancer surgery on Christmas Eve and came home on Christmas Day. It wasn’t the best Christmas I’ve ever had but words can’t express my thanks to all the medical and support staff who made it possible.

Yep our B&B is full over the Christmas period so busy but good really.

I work for a council as a workshop manager, so i need to be there so i know bin lorrys, passenger services, street cleansing and obviously gritting lorrys all get out on the road for their relivent jobs

Im a healthcare assistant and i will be working every day from the friday before christmas including christmas day and new years day.

I work in an acute mental health unit I’m lucky this year as off xmas day but I’m on nights from Boxing Day and the new year 😊

I'm working xmas day on a long day but have had the past 2 years off so I don't mind.
I work as a nurse in the community... fingers crossed the traffic will be in my favour for once.

I’m very lucky. I have worked retail all
My life (for the last 16 years). I have had 2 Xmas periods off from having the kids. I quit my job in the summer to go to uni so I have xmas off. My OH has also worked in retail all his life and moved to a head office in the summer. This will be our first Xmas off together. We normally get the one day but this year we get a whole week to spend with the kids. I’m so excited!

I'm lucky i don't work but DH is a police officer and working til midnight christmas eve , back on duty at 2pm til midnight Christmas day and a 7am start new year's eve and new year's day. At least he will be home to see kids open their gifts.
