that's interesting, as we found a cheaper quote elsewhere and asked virgin to match or drop their price and they said no they cant. so we cancelled their car hire and are picking something else

For clarity, we've got a basic car for 21 days in Sept 2018, included in the holiday deal. I've now paid £374 for 'fully inclusive' insurance. If I removed the car, it reduced the balance by £110, so the net cost is £484. in comparison, the same car with insurance booked on alamo website for Sept 2017 (2018 not available yet) is £525.96. I'm assuming the price will increase for next year, so I added 5% as a guesstimate. Even if the Alamo price does not increase, it still works out £40 less for us with VH.

yeah thats good.
virgin wanted us to pay £390 for the fully inclusive and ours is just 2 weeks this november! have seen quotes from 300 - 350 elsewhere depending on car.

we had upgraded with virgin to a suv but when i worked out price including insurance it was a fortune so checked travelsupermarket and can get same car with alamo for £400 so it is a no brainer
