Plane Changes - Check Seat Bookings
Just general advice really, especially for those going Indirect.
We check our seat bookings regularly and noticed today that American have moved our seats for the PHL to MCO leg right to the back of the plane. When we logged in it is because our original seat numbers on a changed plane would put out three boys on an exit row. Not a big deal as we spotted and shuffled back forward but it is irritating. Wouldn't be hard for them to email and let us know there had been a change. We are paranoid after an internal flight 2 years ago had the 5 of us scattered all over the plane, including our 2 year old. Thankfully the crew on the plane were excellent and when we boarded directed us to sit together and then told passengers with those seats they had to move. Nobody kicked up a fuss and we were very grateful! |

Perhaps, but I'm unsure why I should need to sign up to be told of changes (in the case of the latter) through a third party app?

checkmytrip is directly plugged into Amadeus where your ticket is.
the airline is also plugged into Amadeus you'll often get advisories through CMT before getting them from the airline. Because one works in realtime, and the second is updated nightly. but your airline will send you those notifications, I even have a few of them in my inbox. Now I'm advising about a tool. If you prefer to check manually, please be assured that I respect that. |

All the suggestions you made are very helpful and I will take a look. It just seems odd that you need to have them rather than the direct advice from the airline.
Thanks for your help. Genuinely appreciated. |
