I have betrayed Alamo... going Avis... questions

We went with Avis for the first time last summer. Collected from MIA and got a fantastic free upgrade as they had such limited stock and nothing suitable in the swap lane. Had no issues with additional charges

Have used Avis for many years - never an isdue with high mileage cars. Never had an issue with extra cost added at end - that was booking w Avis direct and until last year when we had a BA Flydrive package like the one you are booking.

Had extra charges that we didnt note until we got home. Upon checking paperwork, noticed DH had signed without paying attention to that it should say 0 at bottom. So lesson learned : check the zero! (both when picking up and returning).

I’ve never had any issues with Avis in terms of overcharging or any issues what so ever

If you have signed up for Avis preferred you don’t sign any paperwork when you collect the car. You register all your preferences online when signing up so don’t have to argue any extras on collection. We’ve used them several times with out any issues. We generally go for a minivan as so easy with luggage so don’t really check the swap area although last October we booked a standard car and swapped to a minivan in the swap and go area free of charge. Spouses are included free anyway so BA exec club could be used for a 3rd driver
