Quickest route

Hi , not sure if this is the correct place to ask but I'll give it a shot , we'll be staying at sandyridge davenport next month , now we've stayed there before & followed the sat nav on main roads etc but I'm sure after the trip somewhere on dibs I read about a back road that was quicker .. can anyone tell me if there's s quicker road between davenport & MK region or did I imagine this & just have to stick with usual highways.

I guess you're talking about THE SHORTCUT (aka Sherberth Road) which takes you from US192 to Osceola Parkway (AKL, DAK) without the need to use World Drive

It's only quicker because you avoid the painful signals along 192, but Sherberth is a narrow winding road. Use the main road when it rains.

Sherbeth road is the quickest way to AK but we tend to use World Drive for the other parks.
If the 192 is really busy we have used the 429 toll road. Last year it was a dollar.

From Sandy ridge that cut through would not really save you any time apart from going to Animal Kingdom or Blizzard beach
You come out of the estate at the top left onto osceola polk line road, right onto south old lake wilson road just before Publix/McDonalds continue North lake wilson when you reach the end your at the 192
You can now turn left then second right onto Sherberth road that is the cut through route

Or you can turn right and continue down to world drive

Or you can come out of the estate at the top left onto osceola polk line road down to I4 and then off at world drive

Which route is quickest or best all depends on the time of day and how busy it is.

That's the one ... used Old Lake Wilson Road and the I4 routes when staying in Sandy Ridge a few years ago. Perfect post

For future reference on the right hand side of North Lake Wilson Road just before you reach 192 they are building a new Walmart which will then be the nearest for all the communities in the Formosa Gardens area.

We passed it a few times last month but didn't see any "opening in ... " signs.

EDITED to add - just read about the planning application on the Sentinel. It will also be the nearest Walmart to WDW property.

Another vote for the 429 - hardly any other cars on it when we use it
