Do we need booster seats?!

Sorry for the basic question...but just checking out for the car and this only just crossed my mind. My children are 11 and almost 10. They sometimes use boosters here but not all the time. I'm not sure what the law is in the US and I've googled but there seems to be a mix of advice.

They won't need booster seats there by the law but if you use them here it might be worth popping then in the suitcase? There's a sticky thread at the top of this forum detailing the exact wording of the laws.

There's no way they are fitting in the suitcase

I think you can transport them for free in a separate bag with Virgin. Not sure about other airlines though.

or buy a high back booster seat from WalMart for $30. We normally get this one:
walmart/ip/Evenflo-B...round/52502364

or a booster cushion for $13

Just realised, we've only used 3 suitcases anyhow (there's four of us with full baggage allowance) so will chuck ours in a holdall and check them in.

That's what we do, take an extra holdall or suitcase with the boosters in and fill it with bargains to bring back

Thomson is free if you do not take a buggy, forms part of your baggage weight if you do
