Way way better than MSEP which I really hope doesn’t come back. I’d like to see something new inspired by spectromagic.

With everyone in this thought - MK needs a night time parade.

It is such a huge miss, a huge cost cut and yet was such a magnificent memory for so many of us, irrespective of parade.
As toonmadlad said above - it is what brings the place to life at night.


I'm liking the thought of a new parade inspired by Spectro.

I'm coming to this quite late but I have to say that "Disney's" excuses don't really wash, it's all to do with $ (IMO)- Move the 3 o'clock parade because people were queuing early ? Seriously...like the same people aren't going to queue early just because it has moved forward!
As far as the night time parade, once it was announced that HEA was going & Spectromagic had had it's last run, there were strong rumours of the Night time parade from DL coming but all of a sudden the floats were too heavy & streets not wide enough... As far as I understand it Spectro is gone for good & there are no plans to bring it back. We've yet to see the new show so will wait to judge it.
TBH we've witnessed a gradual downgrade of the afternoon parade, over time but unless you have seen the previous one's you would be oblivious to this eg For those that remember, compare something like Mickey Mania to what we have now ...

Spectromagic was pure concentrated essence of Disney. A perfect combination of music, light and performance. And, to my mind, as perfect as any Disney classic movie.

There are lots of pics floating around from 2013 of many of the floats scrapped in dumpsters etc due to poor storage and lack of maintenance, but that's no great surprise. They were always complex and challenging things to service.

As someone said, with advances in LEDs etc a cheaper and easier system could easily be developed. I feel sorry for anyone who missed out on the spectacle. At least most of us have memories of that wonderful experience.

But however they do it, the music at least needs to be salvaged.
