Southern States say nav
Hi
Hoping someone might be able to help. Normally we stay within Florida but this year we are planning on driving up to South Carolina and Georgia. As such we are looking at taking a sat nav. We plan on buying one instead of renting. Anyone have my recommendations of what ones are best? Don't want to spend a fortune. Thanks in advance. |

You can download the "Here we go" app free to a mobile phone then add the Florida maps before you go. It then doesn't use data over there.
Maybe you can do the same with adding other states maps? Mick

Too much of a techy challenge for a 72 year old I'm afraid.
Joan has an iPad and iPhone. "Here" shows up on her phone store but not her tablet. I can't download from my Microsoft Surface tablet. Mick

I am less of a tech person than Mick I think!
Have you thougt about doing a click n collect from Walmart? They have a great range and you could pre order to guarantee they have what you want. I just had a quick look and found this for $99. Not bad. walmart/ip/Garmin-Dr...ator/103445019

I’m based at Newark on Trent and have a Tom Tom with the USA maps on - we are not having a car this year so don’t need it if you are local you could borrow it

My Son rated Garmin over Tom Tom. I used to inherit his 'hand me downs' so had what he no longer wanted!
We both have the in car systems now so don't know much about them anymore. I know Amazon UK do sat navs with American maps loaded. Another thought is E Bay. Quite a few people on here rent them off E Bay 'suppliers' for circa £15 for 2 weeks. Not a bad deal for a one off. Edit. Just checked. 35 day rental is £16.14 plus postage.
