Youíre allowed to travel through a lockdown area to move between non-lockdown areas but youíre not allowed to stop in a lockdown area - so stopping at a cafe wouldnít be allowed, as I understand it

It really is a minefield.
I have raised a couple of issues regarding this e.g if we had someone working away from home and they visited us for the first time, they would automatically give their home postcode, why would we then refuse them. They could be working away from home for weeks.
I think some common sense has to be used and itís not all black and white.

We have made an online booking for a restaurant in a local hotel for next week. They emailed me to check if we lived in the county as we are in lockdown and they are only taking bookings from local residents.

How does this work if someone from England comes to a Welsh lockdown area, which I think they can under Englandís rules, can they not eat out?

I thought they could only visit areas not in local lockdown? So could go to Powys, but not Cardiff or something?

Ah that would explain it then. That must be why they checked our location for the booking

If its a lockdown area, no outsiders are allowed in, so they should not be eating out etc.. The only exception is those who travelled there before the lockdown which are able to complete their short term trip.

May be a good thing, you never know when these areas are going to change. Sorry you had to cancel your trip though. Come and visit us after it all over ☺️
Haha, yeah it is always due to rain in Wales, however the forecast all week for the weekend has been looking good since yesterday, plus as we were going to be heading up Snowdon to be at the summit before sunrise, so we ideally needed good conditions.

We have a log cabin booked for half term, fully paid now, itís located 3miles in to Gwynedd county and so far the site are saying they are open, theyíve not said what our options are 🤦 Iím hoping they see sense in the next 3 weeks And we can at least move the holiday if not get a refund. We had planned conwy castle, Llandudno, betws-y-coed, zip world fforest and Snowdon! The only one of those we can now do is Snowdon. We will have to drive from the English border to the site without stopping (with 2 kids in the car) too. We chose the site for its central location for the attractions we wanted to go to, now the only direction we can travel is west, otherwise weíd be in a lockdown area 🤦

Don't quote me it could be different tomorrow.
We went to Gwynydd today, it isn't in lockdown, so it may well still be worth going.
Sunny day, the mountains and lakes were stunning.
Had to make it home before 6 here.
Coming from England you can drive through lockdown areas, such as Conwy, and Denbighshire, but not stop until you reach an area not in lockdown, such as Gwynydd.
No idea when we can go back which actually made me feel sad.
