I booked for 2 weeks in CBR in July yesterday. Thanks to a Dibbers advice, I have just booked for 1 person for now. We won't go if masks are still in place, and I think we wouldn't go if the water parks weren't open either. We wanted free dining, but I can't bear the idea of not going. So the room is booked. I will need to worry about flights in a couple of weeks.

We will be going on to Texas after Florida, and will probably do a fly-drive (for Texas part), but I am not sure where to book with a lower deposit. Trailfinders is £175 pp, which is a lot to risk if it isn't going to happen.

Also very much thanks to my fellow Dibbers, I have booked an avios trip to Washington DC for May.

So, positivity x2!

Alison

I’m joining in too
We’ve moved our October Lanzarote holiday to Florida next May
2 weeks at Universal’s Endless Summer.
Praying that masks will be a thing of the past by then but if not we’ll move our dates again

May I join in? I’ve got a hotel booked for New York in May... I should have booked the flights on Thursday as they was only £778 for 2 adult, 1 child...it was only economy light, but we are only going for 4 nights...I can add a case to come home with. 😉🇺🇸🗽

Massive +1 on the positivities.

My reading on it atm is the vaccine is just around the corner (new year) starting with key workers etc... so it'll take time but still massive change if anyone has to interact with anyone who has it won't be passing it on. Huge firewall (on top of immunity people who have already had it have)

Then you've got the cases which outbreaks are being controlled with testing which is only going to get better

Even Florida cases are starting to come down now, without them really changing anything (and they're catching the asymptomatic cases too, the numbers really aren't that bad)

With DS doing GCSE's next year and DD doing A-levels we've got a lot of unknowns. Will the exam dates be moved (the latest is "it depends on if the results day can be moved") - If they don't start till after the May half term (which is a possibility) they won't end till mid July. Then the A-level results day (and Uni Clearing) is currently 19th Aug which we'll have to be back for. So we're aiming for 24 nights with a tight window

So we've booked a 23night villa from VR360homes, bit more than we'd normally pay for a villa but it's a last one before DD heads off to Uni so going all in Lux (only £275 deposit paid)

BA flights we want should be available in a fortnight and prices look decent. We'll add a car to make it a package to get ATOL and only have to pay £350 deposit

We've got OAT £40 deposit on 14 day ultimates (which we'll upgrade to 21's if they come back)
First night we'll stay in St Pete's beach (we renewed our wedding vows there in 2014 and went to the local (fantastic) pizza place in all our wedding gear (including dress)

Planning on using Tesco's vouchers for a night in HRH to get 2 days universals express. Then onto the Villa where we'll use the rest of Universal tickets, the free OAT gatorland tickets then start the Disney half

We won't book a night in Disney yet, to may benifits have gone = early fastpass for the whole Disney trip (which is now only 15 days, not 22). magic bands. Plus the prices are crazy right now. We might add a night in AKL or just a value if things change

Either way, booking flights, car and villa now with deposit, reserving disney and waiting till later for Universal means It's booked and something to look forward to

We have booked for July next year but only doing Universal as they seemed to have dealt with this much better than Disney If restrictions are still in place when we have to pay the balance will make a decision then as to if we move to 2022.
Looking at the vlogs at the moment Universal is looking Ok.
I can cope with a mask if necessary but there appears to be plenty of rest areas where you can take mask off.
Have booked club level at Royal Pacific for first week and then second week at Cabana Bay.
With still 11 months to go hopefully we will be in a much better situation with either a vaccine or much lower transmission rates by then

We have 13 nights booked at CBR for the end of October 2021 and can’t wait. Feeling super positive about it as so much has already changed in 5 months, I can’t help but feel that in 14 months time the world will be totally different again!
